Margaritaville Casino Proposed for Louisiana

While Mississippians will be wasting away at the Margaritaville Casino along Biloxi’s Back Bay in 2012, another Buffett-inspired gambling venue is in view for Louisiana.
Paradise Casino has plans for a 400-room Margaritaville Hotel & Casino resort just north of the Louisiana Boardwalk, along the Red River. “What Margaritaville does is, it gives us the ability to grow this market,” said Paul Alanis, the parrotheads’ project head.
Alanis believes the new venue in Bossier City will draw parrothead gamblers from Dallas, home to some of the most Jimmy Buffett followers in the country. They haven’t received approval yet from Buffett himself, but Alanis says he likes the site and anticipates him signing an agreement soon.
If approved by Buffett, and approved by city council, voters will decide whether this plan is put into place during a November 19th election and construction could begin early next year.
The $170 million project would include an 18 to 20-story hotel tower, a 1,000-seat entertainment complex with VIP balcony, a spa and an outdoor tropical area visible from the Louisiana Boardwalk.
