The Playing Format of the Poker Tournament
The Knockout format is the most common format of playing the poker tournament. Knockout is also called as ‘freezeout’. The players who have been participated in the tournament have to constitute a dynamic pool. A players table shrinks when he or she gets eliminated by losing all the chips. The players are moved between the tables to avoid the tables play different number of players. Finally, all the remaining players will be seated on a single table called as final table.
Another format of playing the tournament is the shootout tournament. This tournament divides the plays in rounds. In a shootout tournament each table is filled with two to ten players and the roster of the table remains the same till all the players except one is eliminated. These remaining people progress to the final table, and where the winner of the tournament is decided. In the shootout tournament the players will be awarded based on the tiers (how many rounds the player has lasted).
Let’s re-buy into the game
There is a chance for the players to re buy the game who have been eliminated from the play. Such a tournament is known as rebuy tournaments. In this tournament the player can re buy into the game if they lost all their chips, and can avoid getting eliminated form the play for a particular period of time (usually one to two hours). This period is called as rebuy period. If a player has too many chips then he or she is not eligible to re-buy into the game.
