Phil Hellmuth signing with Full Tilt Poker? and other news
The new year has brought with it a load of fresh poker news. There seems to be yet another players being accused of multi-accountings, a currently sponsorless pro shoping himself around, and a poker world record is being attempted. This is your poker news brief.
Say Jay, Say it Isn’t So
In recent days, a big multi-accounting issue was raised by TwoPlusTwo member ‘CrazyMan1122.’ He stated that he believed that Jay “Krantz” Rosenkrantz took part in several sessions using the account name ‘Wasted Potential’ on Full Tilt Poker. In 2007, the Wasted Potential account made a mad run from $1-$2 NL all the way to $200-$400. The account was supposed to belong to Rosenkrantz’s roommate “J-Mac”, but many suspected that Rosenkrantz was actually playing on the account.
Rosenkrantz came forward an ultimately admitted that the account did belong to his roommate and that he had indeed played on the account himself for a few sessions back in 2007. He then said that the quit once he found out that the online community frowned on it.
TwoPlusTwo members quickly called bullshit on this as they had evidence that the “Wasted Potential” account had been playing as recently as October 2010. Rosenkrantz then claimed that his roommate had sold the account to a “very rich guy” and had “J-Mac” come and tell the story. Some speculate that it was “PerkyShmerky” that took over the account. He was a former high stakes players that vanished after 2008 after his account was locked out.
Nothing has yet come out of this matter in the way of banning or punishment from Full Tilt. Many believe that there is more yet to be told to this story. Time will tell.
Phil Hellmuth Talks to Full Tilt Poker
The all-time WSOP bracelet leader, Phil Hellmuth, met with officials from Full Tilt Poker this week at the Wynn in Las Vegas. Hellmuth himself revealed the meeting via Twitter. Hellmuth recently ended his relationship with UB.com and since the time of that departure, speculation has run rampant about where he will land. Nothing has been announced as a result of the meeting, but rest assured that once something happens, Hellmuth will be more than happy to tell us.
